Beaucaire

The town of Beaucaire sits on the eastern river bank of the Rhone River highlighting the Chateau Tarascon built in the early 15th century by Louis II. This ruined castle that once served as a defensive structure protecting Provence from attacks is now only entered passing through a small bridge. Much of the town’s history is rediscovered behind the medieval relics, 17th century old cobblestone streets and fortified walls. Travelers and locals gather to celebrate years of cultural tradition such as: Salon des Métiers d'Art held every October, the Mediterranean Equestrian Meeting held in the summer and the celebration of the myth of Le Drac.
