Apeldoorn

Apeldoorn has rapidly grown to a modern city but the different villages it originated from are still recognizable. Apeldoorn is surrounded by beautiful woods for a nice walk or cycle tour. Along the Hoofdstraat, there is a shopping mall called 'Oranjerie'. There’s a lot of culture to experience, and the local concert and theatre building is one of the biggest facilities of this kind in the Netherlands. For relaxation, visit the Caterplein in the center for a bite to eat or drink. For artlovers, there's art cafe Sam Sam in the Van Kinsbergenstraat, a side street of the Hoofdstraat. The main attraction is the 'Apenheul' primate park in the Berg and Bos Park. The surrounding trees make a natural enviroment for monkeys, apes and lemurs. The Loo palace, built in the 17th century for William III of Orange, is worth a visit. Nearby Veluwe provides a beautifull terrain to walk or cycle. For children, there’s Julianatoren attraction park.
