Lesvos

Lush and green, Lesvos (or Lesbos) is like no other Greek isle. It is the third largest in the Aegean Archipelago behind Crete and Evia and is the perfect place to visit for people who want to experience a taste of authentic Greece. Lesvos is an amazing island, blessed with spectacular beaches, traditional villages, countless varieties of birds and wildflowers, pine forests, medieval castles, scenic harbors with cafes and seafood restaurants, museums including two of the finest art museums in Greece and some of the warmest, friendliest people in all of Greece. On Lesvos is the progressive yet traditional village of Molivos whose ancient walls were once besieged by Achilles himself. The town is built around a medieval castle built by the Byzantines on a hilltop above. The stone houses and shops of the town surround one of the most beautiful harbors in Greece and one can easily find a café to sit in to take in the scenery.
