Wales There is so much to do and see in Wales, it's difficult to know where to start. Churches take an active part in the country's tourism with church to church walks in the Welsh countryside, events hosted by individual churches and the re-erection of a Medieval Church at the Museum of Welsh Life in Cardiff. For castle exploration, Wales is the place to be. There is Cardiff Castle, where a 2,000 year history lesson is just waiting to be told. Don't miss clifftop Harlech Castle - a World Heritage Site. Caerphilly Castle is called the 'sleeping giant'. One can't forget the Mighty Caernarfon Castle, which was built as the ultimate expression of military and royal authority and possibly the most famous of all Welsh castles. Of course, a visit to Wales wouldn't be complete without a trip to one of the country's outstanding beaches - offering everything from watersports to coastal walks to sandcastle building to rock pooling! For retail therapy, the only challenge is deciding where to start among the city centres, shopping arcades, galleries, craft shops, designer outlets. |
