Qeshm

Qeshm, the Persian Gulf's largest island, is located off the southern coast of Iran. In Arabic, Qeshm is called Altavileh (Long Island), because the island runs parallel to the coast and has a rocky shore with sandy bays and good beaches. Apart from the coast the inland area is almost all hilly. Enjoy the diverse beaches, the historical past, and the culture and traditions of Qeshm's native people. Qeshm is also a port that offers duty free shopping. Sights include: Portuguese fortifications dating back to 1507, the old city of Kharboz, Koolghan ancient hill, the pilgrimage sites of Bibi Mariyam, Shah Shahid, Sheikh Andar and Abi Seyed Mozafar Jame’ mosque.
