Tulcea
This eastern Romanian city, founded in the 7th century B.C. and later conquered and rebuilt by the Romans, has a long, rich history. Tulcea, which is situated on the banks of the famous Danube River, has been an important harbor for hundreds of years. In modern times, the city has become famous for its festivals: The International Folk Music and Dance Festival, Fisherman’s Day and St. Andrew’s Day. During these festivals, visitors can fully enjoy Romanian culture firsthand. Other points of interest include St. Nicholas' Church, the Folk Art & Ethnographic Museum, the Danube Delta History Museum and the Art Museum.
