Since the 10th century, Žernoseky's role in wine-growing has been integral to the region's wine production.  Medieval wine cellars built by Cisterian monks can still be viewed today, and wine is often still made with oak barrels. Wine-tasting is abound in this region. Doini Zaiezly is nearby, the village where Franz Kafka spent his summers.
