Cavtat

Cavtat is the southernmost town in the Dubrovnik Neretva County of Croatia off the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Originally discovered by the Greeks in the 6th century BC, it was given the name Eipdaurus. However under Roman rule around 228BC, its name was changed to Latin Civitas Vetus which means “old city.”

Presently, Catvat is a popular tourist destination by the Mediterranean. Visitors can hike the pine forests path only meters from the sea, bask in the Croatian coastline, and stroll through the mix of old and new architecture tinted with Greek charm.
