Capestang

Capestang is nestled in a charming village of Canal du Midi in southern France. This village sits near a large natural saline and shallow lake. For centuries it was the town’s source of wealth such as salt, and food such as fish and game birds. In the 14th and 15th centuries magnificent gothic castles and cathedrals were built by the Bishops of Narbonne who made Capestang their second residence.

This rural town welcomes its visitors with its reputed wine and impresses them with French gothic architecture and remarkable painted ceilings. Visitors can also cruise down the Canal du Midi and relax with the French countryside scenery.
