Ponziane Islands Six islands compose the Ponziane (Pontine) Island chain in the Tyrrhenian Sea: Ponza, Palmarola, Zannone, Ventotene, Santo Stefano and Gavi. With their volcanic origin and stunning emerald and blue waters, the islands have a dramatic landscape, particularly those that are completely or partially uninhabited, such as Zannone or Pamarola with its transparent shores and sweeping cliffs. Ponza and Ventotene offer more amenities, with hotels, restaurants and popular beaches. Monte la Guardia on Ponza offers unmatched, panoramic views of the crescent-shaped scenery below, and en route to Chiaia di Luna beach you might see archaeological ruins, through a Roman-built tunnel.
