Kerak

Built in the 12th century, Kerak (Al-Karak) is composed of one of the biggest crusade castles in the Levant region. The castle was the seat of Pagan, Fulk of Jerusalem's power, particularly due to its proximity to the Dead Sea and the Bedouins. Kerak sprawls across a plateau and is characteristic of 12th century Crusader archicture: Byzantine, Arab and European motifs and structural designs. The museum at the site was remodeled in 2004.
