Almancil

Almancil is a small town in the southernmost province of Algarve, Portugal. This southern coastal town has a stretch of golden beaches and secluded coves. Year round sunshine makes even the busiest business person unwind even during the long winters where it feels like spring. Hidden gems of 18th century architecture can be explored throughout Almancil. One being the Church of Sao Lourenco (St. Lawrence) dating back to 1730, an artistic treasure of Portuguese baroque altarpiece covered in blue and white tiles from floor to ceiling. Travelers can also visit Ria Formosa Natural Park, a coastal lagoon and a barrier of islands that functions as a seafood farm and preserves some of world’s nearly extinct species of animals.
