Delwara Delwara is one of three main passes into the valley of Udaipur. Located in the Aravali hills of Rajasthan and home to the Devi Garh Fort Palace, Delwara is a quaint farming village that boasts of fourteenth century Jain temples that served as the muse for the Dilwara Jain Temples that sits on Mount Abu. Originally known as Devkul Paton Nagri, this town was the main center of learning and culture throughout the fifteenth century. Travelers can visit many temples; one being the 700-year old Rishabhdev Jain Temple with white marble showcases, 149 pillars and 52 individual shrines. Another historic monument is the Parshwanath Jain Temple that’s over 900 years old and contains 13 magnificent idols. Hop on over from the temples to the Indra Kund, a beautiful step with stone carvings to marvel. |
