Cancale

A French fishing port, Cancale is the Oyster Capital of coastal Brittany. Their infamous oysters were brought by Louis XIV from Versailles and centuries later, oyster farming became the town’s economic industry. While most visitors travel to Cancale to eat seafood by breathtaking views of the ocean, this fishing port village also birthed popular artists and saints. A religious town, a festival is held to celebrate the Virgin Mary on the 15th of August.
